My name is Temoe, I’m from Tahiti, and I’m studying a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences with Honours majoring in genetics. This year, I am trying to understand the role of OPRL1 in the inflammatory response, using zebrafish models. We think this gene might be involved in the gout inflammation pathway in the Polynesian population. During my spare time I enjoy sewing, hiking and practicing ‘ori Tahiti.
